While some are from the proverbial top brands that you read of, others are limited edition models made by niche automakers:
10. Apollo Arrow- $1.1 million
From German supercar manufacturing company Apollo Automobil, the Apollo Arrow is touted to be a successor to the Gumpert Apollo, the absolutely bonkers looking mid-engined car that was powered by a twin-turbocharged Audi 4.2-liter V8. The Apollo Arrow, launched at the 2016 Geneva MotorShow, is way better looking, and is equipped with a similar engine that generates 1,000 horsepower and can help it reach 60 mph in merely 2.9 seconds. Only 100 models are expected to be built.
9. Mazzanti Evantra Millecavalli- $1.2 million
The Mazzanti Evantra Millecavali is a ramped up version of Italian supercar maker Mazzanti’s standard Evantra, and is equipped with a 7 liter twin-turbo V8 rated at 1,000 horsepower that can deliver 885 lb-ft of torque. This makes it a real speed demon, reaching 0-60 mph in 2.7 seconds with a top speed of 250 mph. The chassis is made from molybdenum chrome, though the car is around 1,300 kg lighter owing to the use of carbon fiber in its construction. Only 25 units are expected to be made.
8. Ferrari LaFerrari Aptera- $1.4 million
The Ferrari La Ferrari Aptera is an open-top version of the gorgeous LaFerrari hybrid sportscar. This beast is equipped with a 6.3 liter V12 gasoline engine and a 120 kW electric motor that generates 950 horsepower, which gives it a 0.60 mph run in less than 3 seconds and a top speed of 217 mph.
7. Arash AF10 Hybrid- $1.5 million
You may not have heard of this brand, but Suffolk, England-based sports car manufacturer Arash Motor Company has made a name for itself in elite circles for its hybrid supercars. Built extensively with lightweight carbon fiber, the Arash AF10 Hybrid features a 550-horsepower 6.2 liter gasoline V8 engine enhanced by a four electric motors, dubbed as a ‘Warp Drive’. This generates a mind-boggling 2,080 horsepower which helps the AF 10 achieve 0-60 mph in a mere 2.8 seconds.
6. Zenvo TS1- $1.8 million
Manufactured by little known Danish company Zenvo, the Zenvo TS1 is an upgrade to its ST1 supercar. The new vehicle is made of lightweight steel and aluminum and the engine is a 5.9-liter flat-plane V8, with two centrifugal superchargers generating an estimated 1100 horsepower. Top speed can reach an estimated 233 mph. The production run of the TS1 is limited to 15 units.
5. Koenigsegg Regera- $1.9 million
Regera means ‘to reign’ or ‘to rule’. Manufactured by Swedish high-performance sports car maker Koenigsegg, this plug-in hybrid hypercar is a thing of power and beauty. It features a 5.0 liter twin-turbo V8 gasoline engine that is enhanced by three electric motors, generating a total output of 1,822 horsepower. Only 80 units are planned, of which 40 units have already been sold.
4. Bugatti Chiron- $2.7 million
Legendary French car manufacturer Bugatti (now owned by the Volkswagen Group) is famed for making high-end supercars that are defined by incredible performance as well as astoundingly good looks. Following up on its coveted Veyron 16.4, the Bugatti Chiron is an updated version of the company’s 8.0 liter W16 engine with a brutal 1,500 horsepower that can zoom it to 60 mph in a matter of 2.5 seconds. 3. Pagani Huayra BC- $2.8 million
From Italian supercar manufacturer Pagani, the Huayra BC is the lightweight version of the company’s standard Huayra model. Weighing at just 1,218 kg, the Huayra BC is made from carbon fiber and strands of titanium, and is equipped with a 6.0 liter twin-turbo V12 engine (supplied by Mercedes-Benz AMG) having an estimated 750 horsepower. Only 20 units have been made, while orders are piling on for the company’s upcoming roadster version of the same.
2. Lykan Hypersport- $3.4 million
Built by Dubai-based W Motors, the Lykan Hypersport will have a grand total of…only 7 units made. The first one has already been delivered to the Abu Dhabi police (powered by 3.7 liter twin-turbo charged Flat six-engine, 780 horsepower, and a top speed of 245 mph, this could be the fastest cop car ever) and 6 more are in production. If you are a movie buff, you must have seen the Lykan Hypersport in Fast and Furious 7, as well as in several video games like Asphalt 8, DriveClub, Forza Horizon 3 and Forza Motorsport 6. The astonishingly high price is mainly due to its headlights that comprise of titanium LED blades encrusted with 420 diamonds (15 cts).
1. Aston Martin MA-RB 00- $3.9 million
When iconic luxury sportscar manufacturer Aston Martin teams up with Red Bull Racing to bring out a new car, the end result can only be breathtakingly fantastic. The Aston Martin MA-RB 00, the new hypercar from the collaboration, boasts a lightweight carbon fiber structure, is powered by a V12 engine and has radical aerodynamics to provide a transformative driving experience. Production will be limited to 99 to 150 road cars and 25 track-only versions. Deliveries are expected to start in 2018.
